Cinema for the strange.

Dark Side of the Morning

Swedish director, Erik Rosenlund, was born in 1975. Before becoming an animator, he worked as an illustrator and maker of comics. He believes in learning on his own by trial and error, but did study for a couple of years at the Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Eksjo, Sweden. His award-winning films have screened at some of the world's fanciest festivals, including Cannes.

Small & Creepy is pleased to be showing two of Erik's films.

SPEGELBARN, the title translates into English as LOOKING GLASS, was created with pencil and paper. The drawings were then scanned, digitally composited, and the characters inverted, resulting in negative pencil drawings.

DARK SIDE OF THE MORNING uses the same techniques as SPEGELBARN. Erik creates his films by himself, writing, directing, animating, editing, and doing all of the sound work.
